Machine Tool Technology

Students learn how to read blueprints, make shop working sketches, and layout jobs with the information provided on prints.

An introduction to computer numerical control machining is given to second year students.  Basic math and measuring skills are required.

Masonry

Bricks

Students enrolling in this program should have good manual dexterity, good coordination, the ability to work well with other students, the physical abilities required for construction trades, basic comprehension skills and basic reading and math skills.

Students will spend 80 percent of their time in the shop performing actual masonry tasks; therefore, each student's grade will reflect actual job performance.

Materials Distribution (Warehousing)

Looking for that hands on experience? The Materials Distribution program is just that. You will learn how to obtain a good job in a warehouse environment, by understanding the materials process from receiving the product into a warehouse to stocking, picking and shipping the product to the customer. You will learn how to safely operate equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, electric pallet riders. If you have the desire to learn, work hard and come to class, this is the program for you. This program is supported by many businesses in our area such as the ABC GROUP, Orgill Distribution, Staples Distribution, HP Hood, Alliance Material Handling, Berkeley County Schools warehouse, Quad Graphics, Dot Foods, Ralph Lauren, Axiom Staffing Group, Manpower Staffing Group, ABF Trucking, Werres and many other businesses in the local area. The student must be sufficiently mature and able to read and write on a 9th grade level and be able to use fractions and decimals.
