General Building Construction
Instructor: Mr. Skip Lantz

Building Construction

Students enrolled in the building construction program study a variety of related subjects in both theory and shop practice.  The course provides for training in all phases of home construction:  walls, roof, windows and doors, and blueprint reading.  Shop and safety activities are combined with classroom instruction.

Students are not required to become registered apprentices to take the Building Construction Class but are encouraged to do so.  Some math and computer literacy prerequisites may be required for registration.

Provides an overview of the printing industry, its basic operations, safety practices, reproduction photography, image assembly, platemaking, press operations, bindery, and job application skills.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design 

Students will learn creative and technical aspects of commercial arts/graphic design including:  the basics of national retail trade; industrial and professional advertising; layout and paste-up; screen printing; air brushing; and desk top publishing. When possible, guest speakers will be demonstrating to the class.

Health Occupations

Class is open to Juniors and Seniors in Courses 1 and 2.  Seniors only in Courses 3 and 4 after successful completion of Courses 1 and 2.  Pre-registration is helpful.

This is a work-based curriculum and skills introduced in this course are entry-level and prepare students for employment in a variety of health care settings.

Interactive Game & Web Development Academy
Instructor: Mr. Chuck McClain

Programming

The entire Academy is delivered over two years. The first year is covered in the morning class and the second year is delivered in the afternoon. Each year is independent of the other; however successful completion of both provides a more complete entry level pathway into the software side of the IT industry. Students will be able to sit for certification testing throughout the year that are recognized industry certifications. EDGE credit can also be earned upon successful completion of each year.
